The “Hear Me” function for people with hearing impairments has been introduced on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have become more accessible to people with disabilities. According to the Ministry of Health, in Ukraine almost 2 million people have hearing disorders, 30% of them communicate daily in sign language. From now on, they can contact any service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and get feedback.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs supports the National Strategy for creating a barrier-free space in Ukraine and participates in the implementation of modern technologies for people with disabilities, in particular in the pilot project “Hear Me”, which simplifies the provision of services for people with hearing impairments.
On the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs there is a special widget “Eye”. It allows citizens to communicate effectively with the department online. In particular, contact an operator who speaks sign language, ask your questions and get answers to them.
To connect with a sign language translator and receive feedback, you must enter the following information: - full name; - contact phone number;
- e-mail address.
According to the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gulidin, the pilot project “Hear Me” has already shown good results.
“Thanks to innovative systems, 400,000 Ukrainians with hearing impairment have full access to all services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. We strive for the life of all, without exception, our fellow citizens to be safe, comfortable and comfortable,” says the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Within the framework of the National Barrierlessness Strategy, the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine continue to implement other projects aimed at the accessibility of services for people with disabilities.
