In the Carpathian region, a large-scale drug sales channel with millions of transactions has been blocked
Internal security agents of the National Police, together with SBI employees, stopped the activities of the criminal group, which was engaged in illegal drug trafficking in the territory of Ivano-Frankivsk region and in other regions. During the searches, drugs worth 5 million hryvnias were seized.
Employees of the Ivano-Frankivsk Department of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police established the involvement of a group of individuals in a large-scale scheme for the sale of cannabis and amphetamine by wholesale lots. The drug group consisted of ten local residents between the ages of 21 and 38.
The conspirators bought large consignments of drugs, packaged them and sold them to drug addicts, by hand-to-hand or by postal means to other regions, including the frontline. During the month of the criminal trade, dealers distributed drugs worth more than 10 million hryvnias at “black market” prices.
Employees of internal security, the police of the Carpathian region and the Territorial Department of the SBI, located in the city of Lviv, with the physical support of the police of special purpose of the GUNP in the Ivano-Frankivsk region and special officers of the SBI, conducted 26 sanctioned searches at the place of residence of the defendants. As a result of the measures, a significant amount of drugs, money, bank cards, “rough” records, mobile phones were seized. Material evidence is aimed at conducting an examination.
On the “black market”, the estimated value of the seized drug product is about 5,000,000 hryvnias. At present, three defendants have been served with suspicions under Art.
307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The accomplices were detained in procedural order, for two of them the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The investigation is ongoing to bring other members of the drug group to criminal responsibility. Procedural leadership is carried out by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Ivano-Frankivsk Specialized Prosecutor's Office in
the Military and Defense Sphere of the Western Region.
