On strengthening the protection of the western sections of the state border — cadets of the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Within the framework of the joint special border operation “West-2023”, which is currently underway in Transcarpathia and Bukovina, border guards take a number of measures to increase the reliability of the protection of state borders.
In particular, the purpose of this operation is to counter illegal activities at the state border, to prevent attempts to illegally cross the border, to strengthen control over compliance with the border regime and the state border regime, to respond promptly to changes in the situation at the border.
To increase the efficiency of the operation, personnel of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which recently arrived for reinforcement, are added. More than half a thousand cadets who have recently arrived for reinforcement perform duty duties as part of the Border Force along with regular staff. They are involved in border patrols, in carrying out control and inspection activities, etc.
Thus, the density of the protection of state borders has increased, which makes it possible to significantly strengthen the border protection in the western sections. At the same time, the cadets of law enforcement universities gain the necessary experience in their future practice.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the National Guard, the territorial units of recruitment and social support, as well as representatives of state authorities and local self-government were also involved in the activities within the framework of the joint special operation.
