While performing official duties at the checkpoint, the guards of the Northern Union, together with patrol police officers, stopped a 35-year-old man who was carrying more than 1 million 700 thousand dollars in cash in the trunk of a car.
After stopping and checking the transport, the driver began to get visibly nervous and tried to finish the conversation with the servicemen as soon as possible.
During a detailed search of the car, law enforcement officers found in the luggage compartment signed plastic bags with foreign currency, the origin of which the driver could not explain.
Under such circumstances, the investigator-operational group of the Zhytomyr district police department was called to the scene, to which the detainee was transferred for further clarification of the circumstances, and the money was withdrawn in accordance with the established procedure.
