Odesa region exposed the scheme of departure from Ukraine on forged guardianship documents

Two locals created an illegal border crossing scheme. Dealers offered men of conscription age to issue forged guardianship documents over the elderly and incapacitated.

The detection and documentation of the criminal scheme was carried out by the employees of the Department of Internal and Own Security of the 25th border detachment of the GVVB “South” of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the SBU, the National Police, under the procedural guidance of the Belgorod-Dnestrov District Prosecutor's Office.

In accordance with the decision of the Belgorod-Dnistrovsky City District Court of the Odessa region, law enforcement officers conducted a series of searches of the defendants of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Art. 332 Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine”.

As a result of the measures taken, law enforcement officers seized documentation, computer equipment and other items that may be material evidence in the case.

Law enforcement officers documented the illegal activities of two persons — a man and a woman, who organized the channel of illegal transportation across the border of Ukrainian citizens — men of conscription age.

The scheme, which consisted of using fake guardianship documents over the elderly and incapacitated, was used by more than 18 people. For their services, the merchants took a fee of between $3,000 and $4,000 from each man.

The persons involved in the case were declared on suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 332 KKU.
