A scheme for illegal import of goods under the guise of humanitarian aid worth 70 million hryvnias was exposed in Lviv region
Law enforcers exposed a scheme for the illegal importation into the territory of Ukraine of branded clothing and gadgets under the guise of humanitarian assistance using forged documents (Part 1, Part 4 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
On the initiative of the operational staff of the Lviv detachment, a Volvo truck was inspected, which was followed to Ukraine through the checkpoint “Krakivets”. According to the documents, humanitarian aid was transported by truck.
However, according to the results of the inspection, 14 pallets and more than 950 boxes with computer equipment and mobile phones of famous world brands, as well as expensive women's shoes and branded clothing were found in the car.
According to preliminary data, the value of the seized is more than 70 million hryvnias. The cargo was arrested and forensic examinations were ordered.
Investigative actions continue. Currently, all persons involved in the commission of this criminal offense are being established.
Exposure activities were carried out by the operational staff of the Lviv Border Guard Unit together with the investigators of the investigation sector of the Yavoriv RVP of the Main Department of the NP in Lviv Oblast under the procedural leadership of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor's Office.
