Twelve offenders were detained at the border with Slovakia
Over the past day, the border guards of the Chop Detachment, together with Slovak colleagues, detained 12 Ukrainian citizens who tried to enter the neighboring state illegally.
Five of them were stopped half a kilometer from the border in the area of the settlement of Palad Komarivka, Uzhgorod district. Border guards noticed a suspicious foreign-registered car in which there were five men. All of them turned out to be local residents and admitted that they planned to cross the border further on foot outside the checkpoints.
Two more offenders were detected by the border outfit of the same department at night with the help of technical means of surveillance several hundred meters from the state border. The men overcame the barrier fence and made their way to their goal with shrubs. It was possible to detain them already in the adjacent territory in cooperation with Slovak colleagues.
Another “tourist”, also a local resident, was detained at midnight at the same site by the operatives of the Chopsky detachment. In the process, law enforcement officers even had to carry out a warning shot upwards.
Soon, the border guards of the “Palace Komarivka” department, in cooperation with Slovak colleagues, again stopped the two violators. One of them was detained a few dozen meters from the border, the other was already on the other side of the state border.
Two more “travelers” were found by soldiers of the department “Velyky Berezny” near the railway station in the area of the border village of Zabrid. Two Kharkov residents moved to the border along the route saved in the mobile phone.
