In Kyiv region, the National Guard shot down an enemy cruise missile from a small arms
During a massive rocket attack by Russia on the territory of Ukraine on December 29, a mobile fire group of guards of the 27th Pechersk Brigade shot down an enemy cruise missile.
After detecting the target moving in the direction of the city of Kiev, the National Guards opened fire from machine guns.During the inspection of the place where the debris fell, it was preliminarily established that as a result of fire damage in the rocket, detonation of fuel tanks, loss of control and altitude occurred. Detonation of the combat part of the missile did not occur.
The fire calculations of the National Guard are designed to counter air strikes, in particular to shoot down missiles and kamikaze drones. Combined with the effective work of air defense units, this makes it possible to increase the result of shooting down air targets and thereby preserve infrastructure facilities and
the lives of our citizens.
