In Kyiv region, a group of enterprises was exposed in large-scale fraud for the sale of fuel
The events were carried out by employees of the Strategic Investigations Department in the Kiev region of the National Police together with law enforcement colleagues within the framework of the special operation “Excise”.
According to police, the 41-year-old Kiev resident created an enterprise, the main activity of which was the storage of oil products. To do this, he even leased the territory of the refinery. However, later, in view of the increase in prices and demand for fuel, he established its sale without the appropriate permits. To obtain significant profits, those involved added a variety of additives. Low-quality fuel was bought by companies for cash to hide illegal activities, and later sold on the market.
During the operational measures, the police documented the facts of the sale of 22 thousand liters of fuel worth almost a million hryvnias. In addition, the addresses of the enterprises and residence of the organizer were searched and documentation, “rough” records, equipment used for the production and storage of fuel, as well as more than 120 thousand liters of fuel were seized.
After carrying out a number of examinations and procedural measures, a decision will be made on reporting suspicions to the persons involved in the scheme. The investigation continues in criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The procedural guidance in the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Obukhiv District Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
