Kiev-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway opened in Donetsk region: the safety of citizens is ensured by the police

The passage of the civilian population on the section of the M-03 highway on the border of Donetsk and Kharkiv regions has been restored. For the safety of citizens, a checkpoint has been established here, where police officers work in cooperation with the military law and order service, the National Guard and the Security Service of Ukraine.

The first briefing for the outfits was conducted by the chief of police of Donetsk region, police general of the third rank Ruslan Osipenko.

The main tasks of law enforcement officers are to block the illegal circulation of weapons, identify persons who pose a threat to public safety, prevent the transportation of prohibited alcoholic products, etc.

“Due to the increase in the number of vehicles entering the area - civilian and volunteer - the police are conducting a check, which is required by the security situation. Every day during this inspection, we detect and remove prohibited items, including illegal weapons. In wartime, we must be especially vigilant in order to protect the lives of peaceful residents,” Ruslan Osipenko said.

In just a day at the stop controls in Donetsk region, law enforcement officers checked almost 2,000 people, 900 units of transport. Stopped 20 offenses, in particular illegal ammunition seized, wanted criminal detained.

The head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region checked the working conditions of the police at the checkpoint. The staff is equipped with autonomous heating, energy resources (generators, power banks). Installation of solar panels continues.

At the strategic facility, police officers of territorial units and crews of patrol police carry out service. Together, law enforcement officers monitor traffic safety and respond to all appeals of people who go to check their homes or pick up things.

“We are not only here to check, but also to help. For example, repair a car or suggest the safest way. People are asking different questions,” police officer Alexander Kravchenko said.
