In the village of Dobropillia, a man in a Volkswagen Golf car hit two pedestrian children and fled the scene. As a result of the accident, a 9-year-old boy died on the spot. Another child, aged 11, was hospitalized with injuries. The police have found the fugitive and are bringing him to justice.
The traffic accident occurred on May 15 at about 13:30. The driver did not stop to help the affected children and left the scene of the accident. The younger boy, a resident of the village of Vodiane, received fatal bodily injuries. The other, a resident of the village of Dobropillia, is in the hospital.
The investigators of the regional police chief, the response team and the investigative and operational team, as well as the forensic laboratory worked at the crime scene. The police seized physical evidence - fragments of glass and paint coating, biological samples.
Within hours, law enforcement officers determined the location of the car and its owner. He turned out to be a 34-year-old resident of the village of Vodyane.
Vehicle with damage after an accident has been withdrawn.
The offender was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles”. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
