In Donetsk region, the crew of the “White Angel” under fire evacuates the seriously injured
With limbs torn off, on the verge of death, seriously ill — every policeman helps to survive. Despite the constant shelling and the danger to their own lives, the “angels” daily carry out rescue flights to the settlements of the Marin community. In a week, the police managed to remove 15 people.
Law enforcement officers received a call about casualties as a result of shelling. Under the explosions, they quickly came to the rescue. One of the local residents broke his fingers on his hand. The man was sleeping in his bed when Russian shells hit his house. Another resident suffered a serious leg injury. The police provided medical assistance to the wounded and took them to the hospital. However, not everyone manages to survive under the merciless fire of the Russians.
“We take the dead several times a day,” says one of the “angels” Vasily Pipa.
The crew evacuates all citizens who want to leave the dangerous place. At the request of the owners, police officers take their pets with them.
“Due to the intensity of shelling, the number of visits related to the provision of medical care to people has increased. Citizens receive mostly mine-blast injuries, shrapnel wounds. Unfortunately, there are cases where the people we took to the hospital have died. We constantly urge people to evacuate to safe regions, we tell that the state provides everyone with shelter and monetary security. I want to ask all citizens to leave the combat zone, because we may not have time to save you,” says Vasily Pipa, a police officer of the “White Angel” crew.
