In Dnipropetrovsk region, law enforcement officers seized drugs and psychotropic drugs for 12 million hryvnias
During a large-scale special operation, the police found and detained seven members of a criminal organization engaged in the sale of drugs on a particularly large scale in the Dnipropetrovsk region and in neighboring regions.
According to the materials of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dnipropetrovsk region police, it was established that the men organized the sale of cannabis and methamphetamine in the territory of Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Kropyvnytskyi, as well as Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol. Members of the group lived in these regions and were responsible for establishing wholesale drug distribution channels on their territory.
More than 400 police officers were involved in the special operation, in particular investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, Criminal Investigation Department and the Investigative Department of the GUNP in the Dnipropetrovsk region, operatives of Dniprovsky, Kamensky and Nikopol RUPs. Force support was provided by special officers of the KORD and the special purpose police regiment.
On August 17, 62 searches took place at the places of residence of the defendants and wholesale buyers, during which more than 50 kg of cannabis and more than 7 kg of methamphetamine, 13 cars, of which six were premium class, as well as other material evidence were seized. According to preliminary estimates, the cost of seized drugs and psychotropics at “black market” prices is more than 12.5 million hryvnias.
The 37-year-old leader of the criminal organization and four other participants were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Two other men are wanted. All participants were informed about the suspicion of the car. 1. Art. 255, Part 4 of Article 28, Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the issue of choosing preventive measures for suspects in the form of detention is being resolved. Procedural management of open criminal proceedings is carried out by prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
