Solonyansky Department of the Main Department of the State Health Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region continues to document stateless persons.

So, the other day, a whole family that did not have citizenship received a temporary residence permit: a husband and his wife and their two adult sons.

The family moved to Ukraine in 1993 from Armenia. Parents had passports of citizens of the former USSR, and sons - only birth certificates.

When the spouses reached retirement age, they could not apply for a pension due to the lack of necessary documents. And already adult sons after graduating from the 9th grade of school without documents could not continue their studies, officially find employment and create their own families. Therefore, the family turned to the migration service.

At the same time, we recall that on April 16, 2021, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 317 “On Some Issues of Recognition of Stateless Persons” entered into force, which approved the procedure for consideration of an application for recognition of a stateless person, according to which the process of documenting such persons began in Ukraine, which was used by a family from the Dnipropetrovsk region.

In the future, the acquisition of stateless persons will allow such a category of people to be officially employed, receive medical care, education, pensions and other social benefits.

The service is provided without charge, which is a positive point for documenting the whole family.

Subsequently, all family members will be entitled to a permit to immigrate to Ukraine and to document with permanent residence permits, and eventually they will be able to apply for Ukrainian citizenship.
