In honor of the Hero-Border Guard Igor Prysyazhnyuk was held the championship of Ukraine in rowing marathon
Personal championship of Ukraine in rowing marathon on kayaks and canoes was held in Vinnytsia.
For the eighth year, the strongest rowers from different parts of Ukraine compete, test their own strength, overcome marathon distances. They dedicate their successes in this competition to the bright memory of the fallen warrior-guard of the Mogilev-Podolsk detachment of senior ensign Igor Prysyazhnyuk.
Participants competed in different categories, both single and team, as well as short and long distances. All of them showed incredible skill and endurance. However, the main thing in this tournament was not the victory, but the memory of the Hero of the Border Guard, who defended our country.
Igor Prysyazhnyuk was a multiple champion of Ukraine in rowing at distances of 1000 and 5000 meters, master of sports of Ukraine in canoeing and canoeing, member of the national team of Ukraine. At the same time, he devoted about 20 years of service in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service. He was a true patriot, sincerely supported the fate of Ukraine. In 2014, when the enemy treacherously violated the peace and invaded our land, Igor did not hesitate, together with his brothers, to defend the eastern borders of the country.
A border guard was killed on August 7, 2014 in Luhansk region during a breakout from the encirclement near the Dovzhansky checkpoint. During the exit from the encirclement, a barrage of rocket artillery was opened on the column from the territory of Russia.
One of the shells ruptured next to the car in which Igor was staying.
Igor's family members — his wife, parents, and brother — were present at the opening of the championship. Igor's sports business is successfully continued by his wife Alla and son Maxim. Alla has the honorary title of “Master of Sports in Kayaking and Canoeing”, and the 12-year-old boy has already won the first awards and takes part in all-Ukrainian and international competitions.
The memory of the hero is forever in our hearts.
