In Chernihiv region, border guards seized a million liters of illegal diesel fuel
The illegal production of diesel fuel was exposed by the operational staff of the Chernihiv Border Detachment with the detectives of the main unit of the BEB of Ukraine.
During the investigation, it was established that the diesel surrogate was illegally produced at an oil refining sector enterprise located in the border village of Chernihiv district. Officials of the enterprise organized large-scale production of low-quality fuel, to which various solvents were added. To avoid paying taxes, the manufactured products were distributed to other regions of Ukraine as raw materials and sold for cash through a network of illegal gas stations.
According to the investigation, only because of excise tax evasion, the participants of the scheme caused the state losses of more than 12 million hryvnias.
Within the scope of the investigation, the operatives of the Chernihiv border detachment together with the officers of the unit of detectives for the protection of the economy in the sphere of circulation of excisable goods of the main unit of the BEB of Ukraine conducted sanctioned searches and seized more than 1000 tons of diesel fuel, samples of which were sent for examination.
Pre-trial investigation of the crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 204 Criminal Code of Ukraine is carried out by BEB detectives under the operational support of the main operational-search department of the Chernihiv border detachment of the State Border Service of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
