A man who hit a policeman with an ax was detained in Cherkasy region (VIDEO)
Up to five years in prison threatens a man who inflicted bodily harm on a police officer with an ax. The offender was informed of the suspicion and a precautionary measure was chosen.
The incident occurred in the village of Vilkhivchyk, Zvenigorodsky district. A local resident called the police because drunk people committed hooliganism. Law enforcement officers tried to calm the men down and one of them did not respond to legal demands. He began to resist and, grabbing an ax, struck the policeman with it.
The offender was detained in procedural order. Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, investigators informed the man of suspicion of committing a crime provided for in Part 2 of Art. 345 (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the court has chosen the suspect a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for a period of 60 days. The investigation is ongoing.
