Border guards detained military persons and organizers of illegal transportation in Bukovina
As part of the operational and preventive measures “Frontier 2022”, representatives of the Chernivtsi detachment detained 20 Ukrainian citizens who tried to get to Romania and Moldova outside the checkpoints.
In particular, during the implementation of advance information, the operational officers of the Chernivtsi detachment together with the border guards of the Krasnoilsk border service department detained 5 offenders who were heading to Romania outside the checkpoints. The driver and the Mercedes minibus carried by the offenders were detained near the state border within the border strip in Chernivtsi district.
As it turned out, the driver organized an illegal crossing of the Ukrainian-Romanian border outside the checkpoints for 5 conscripted men — residents of Sumy, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions, ensuring their transfer.
At the same time, the soldiers of the departments “Kelmentsy”, “Falkiv” and “Nizhny Petrovtsi” in seven cases detained another 14 persons of conscription age who illegally tried to enter Moldova and Romania. The men were unable to explain to the border guards the purpose of staying in the controlled border area, and later confessed their intention to illegally cross the border. Violators of the border were residents of Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa and Khmelnytsky regions.
The offenders were brought to the border units and brought to justice under Article 204 (Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine) of the KUPap. In addition, in relation to two citizens, a notice was sent to the National Police on the detection of signs of a criminal offense provided for in art. 332 (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
