Bukovina reported on suspicion of exhibitor of regional military administration for organizing a “scheme” of illegal border crossing
Operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Chernivtsi region, together with the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police, exposed a 37-year-old former employee of the administration for organizing a “scheme” of illegal departure of men of conscription age abroad. Taking advantage of her official position, the respondent resolved the issue of introducing the latter into the appropriate automated system. The offender “asked” from 5 to 10 thousand US dollars.
In the summer, police conducted searches in the premises of the OVA. After processing the discovered material evidence and carrying out a complex of other investigative actions, more than 50 people were identified who, with the help of the defendant, illegally crossed the border and did not return.
On November 30, law enforcement officers conducted searches of the places of residence and work of the defendants in the territory of the region. As a result of the measures, flash drives, mobile phones, documents that became the basis for the departure of persons abroad and “rough” records were seized.
Police investigators under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General informed the defendant of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) and Part 3 of Art. 362 (unauthorized actions with information that is processed in electronic computing machines (computers), automation systems, computer networks or stored on the media of such information, committed by a person who has the right to access it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Such an offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to seven years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying other persons who may be involved in illegal activities. The investigation is ongoing.
