The Ministry of Internal Affairs introduced an unlimited number of attempts to pass exams for a driver's license in service centers
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, by its Order No. 443, has changed the procedure for passing exams for obtaining the right to drive vehicles and issue driver's licenses. Changes come into force from the day following publication, that is, from August 1.
“The abolition of three attempts to pass the practical exam is designed to lower the moral barrier for candidates, minimize the potential corruption risk, establish a focus on objective assessment of the candidate's ability to drive a vehicle”, — explained Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bohdan Drapyati.
What exactly changes in taking exams in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs?
The deadlines for retaking the exams have been updated. If the candidate for a driver has not passed a theoretical or practical exam in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, then the next such exam is appointed no earlier than after 10 calendar days. It is worth counting from the next day after failing the exam. That is, now there is more time to repeat the material or for additional classes to prepare better for the next attempt.
And also now for passing the practical exam, an unlimited number of attempts are provided for two years from the date of issuance of the certificate of completion of practical training.
If the candidate in the driver has not passed the theoretical exam within one year from the date of issuance of the certificate of completion of theoretical training, then such a person is admitted again to the theoretical exam in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs after passing the theoretical training in the educational institution and confirming such training with a new certificate of completion ki.
If the candidate in the driver has not successfully passed the practical exam within two years from the date of registration of the certificate of completion of practical training, then for the next practical exam in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs such a person is allowed only after re-passing both courses of training: theoretical and practical training.
What remains unchanged?
The algorithm for passing training and passing exams in service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is divided into a theoretical driver training module and a practical module. Only after passing the theoretical training course and successfully passing the theoretical exam in the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs can you begin practical training behind the wheel of a car.
You can change educational institutions during preparation. That is, a theoretical course can be taken in one city, and then, having moved to another locality, for example, undergo practical training in another driving school. Also in various service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs you can pass theoretical and practical exams — where it is convenient for a person.
It is also worth adding that the theoretical exam is considered simple if the candidate in the driver made more than two errors in the answers. A practical exam is considered simple if the candidate is a driver:
- made more than three typical mistakes;
- created a situation that caused the need for the intervention of the examiner or instructor of the educational institution in the management of the vehicle to prevent an emergency or accident;
- refused to perform the practical exam exercise, except in cases where the execution of the examiner's command may lead to a violation of traffic rules or the creation of an emergency or accident.
