The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ukrzaliznytsia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation within the framework of the “Iron Squad” social project
The project is being implemented with the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, a businessman who personally took part in the event. The signing of the Memorandum took place at the Kyiv Lyceum of Security and National Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The document was signed by Inna Yashchuk, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the Chairman of "Ukrzaliznytsia" (Ukrainian Railways).
The "Iron Squad" project is aimed at patriotic education of young people through educational visits to Ukrainian cities. Project participants gain knowledge in various fields, such as sports, medical, military, leadership, and cyber training.
The project engages talented teenagers with outstanding achievements in education, sports, art and creativity who, as a result of russian aggression, have lost the opportunity to develop their potential but still want to contribute to the country's development.
Students of security and patriotic education lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also took part in the "Iron Squad" project. These are children from the families of defenders of Ukraine from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and other units of the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Inna Yashchuk, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs expressed her gratitude to the project partners and stressed its great importance for the future of Ukraine.
"We will rebuild our country as soon as possible, we will regain our territories, yet there is a period that we will never be able to return - childhood. Children are the prospect and future of our country. I am grateful to our partners for this brilliant project idea. So far, 10 of our lyceum students have already taken part in the exchange, and I want every student to have the opportunity to join it," Inna Yashchuk said in her speech.
In his speech, Howard Buffett, an American businessman and philanthropist whose foundation supports the "Iron Squad" project, called on the lyceum students to use every opportunity for self-improvement and development.
"The participants who have the opportunity to join the Iron Change are truly fortunate, as each of you is the future leader of Ukraine. I encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity to develop yourself and improve your skills. The concept of the project is based on important values. As a part of this initiative, you will develop communication and mutual respect skills, build strong character and will, learn honesty, love and respect for your country," said Howard Buffett.
Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the Chairman of "Ukrzaliznytsia", assured that the company stands ready to support as many young people as possible within the framework of this initiative.
At the end of the meeting, Inna Yashchuk, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the Chairman of the "Ukrzaliznytsia" JSC, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which will allow even more lyceum students to join the project, gaining invaluable experience, knowledge, and emotions.
The lyceum students who attended the event had the opportunity not only to learn more about the project but also to communicate directly with the guests. The meeting with Howard Buffett was a special event that inspired the young people. The lyceum students asked him questions with interest, learning about his vision of helping our country during the most difficult times and his active position in supporting Ukraine. This meeting emphasizes that the support of the international community comes not only from countries, but also from people who care about Ukraine.
