The Ministry of Internal Affairs clarifies: what payments are accrued to the military, who are captured or missing missing

For servicemen in this status, the following payments are maintained: official salary at the last place of service, salary according to military rank, allowances for service and other monthly additional types of cash support of a permanent nature and other types of monetary security. In addition, an additional fee of up to 100,000 hryvnias is paid. This is told by the Hero of Ukraine national guard Dmitry Finashin.

Payment of monetary support to members of families of prisoners and missing servicemen is carried out in accordance with Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine “On social and legal protection of servicemen and members of their families” and the corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 884 of November 30, 2016, according to which families are paid monthly monetary security is provided, including all additional payments.

The wife or husband have the right to receive all the necessary payments, and in the absence of adult children living with the military, and legal representatives - guardians, guardians or adopters of minor children or disabled people since childhood, regardless of their age. Parents receive payments in equal shares if the servicemen are not married and do not have children. In the case of a written refusal of one of the persons to receive payments, their share is evenly distributed among other persons who are entitled to receive it.

To receive all payments to the family of a prisoner of war, it is necessary to submit a package of documents, but payments are made monthly from the day of the soldier's capture or his disappearance and including the day of their release. Family members of missing servicemen - until the day the court decision to recognize members of their families as missing or declared dead comes into force. To do this, you need to submit the appropriate package of documents:

statement addressed to the commander of the military unit;
copies of the passport pages of adult family members with data on the surname, first name and patronymic and registration of the place of residence;
certificate of registration of the place of residence of family members;
a copy of the marriage certificate;
copies of birth certificates of children;
a copy of the document certifying registration in the State Register of Individuals — Taxpayers.

In all cases, the payment of monetary security is made until the day of exclusion of servicemen from the lists of personnel of the military unit.

It is important that if a soldier voluntarily surrendered to captivity, deserted or voluntarily left a military unit, payments will not be made.
