The Ministry of Internal Affairs presents driving schools for people with disabilities, - Kateryna Pavlichenko
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kateryna Pavlichenko during the presentation of the flagship project at a meeting of the Barrier-Free Council chaired by Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal and attended by First Lady Elena Zelenska.
The project provides for the provision of a comprehensive quality service for acquiring driving skills and obtaining a driver's license as part of mixed inclusive groups.
“Our client will go through the following stages: medical and social expert commission; obtaining a medical certificate; training in a driving school on the basis of the Higher Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; passing a theoretical exam in the CCC; practical training and examination,” said the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to her, the capacity of driving schools for people with disabilities will be about 300 people per year.
“We are creating a platform of opportunities for everyone who wants to get a driver's license, as well as to retrain,” said Kateryna Pavlichenko.
The project “Driving schools for people with disabilities” is implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine together with partners within the framework of the first lady's nationwide initiative “Without Barriers”.
“I thank the leaders and staff of the National Academy of Internal Affairs, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, KHNU, Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their active leadership in creating a barrier-free environment, as well as to everyone who joined the project,” added Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
