The Ministry of Internal Affairs is ready for any “surprises”, on the eve of Independence Day, - Yevhenii Yenin
The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the air of the All-Ukrainian Telemarathon spoke about the readiness of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on holidays, about the state of demining of contaminated territories, as well as about the organization of issuing documents to Ukrainians who are abroad.
As Yevgeny Yenin noted, the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs operate under conditions of heightened alert, and on holidays, enhanced patrols in places of recreation of citizens will be strengthened. National guards, rescuers, dog handlers with service dogs, explosives and investigative and operational teams of the National Police will be ready for the development of any emergency situations.
“Together with the SBU, we carefully analyze all possible information regarding the activation of saboteurs, in particular from the side of the Arab Republic. Therefore, I ask you to understand the restrictions and help law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties. After all, we perfectly understand that a successful, democratic, prosperous and peaceful Ukraine is a constant cause for envy for the neighboring state. We also know perfectly well that the Russian leader loves symbolism, and that is why we expect special surprises for all residents of our state. We are ready for any surprises, but we urge citizens to heed our advice, comply with curfew conditions and respond appropriately to air alarms. Now, if you see something suspicious, do not forget to call the police on phone 102,” Yevgeny Yenin said.
The First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs paid special attention to the issue of demining contaminated areas. He recalled that in this regard, on the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Emergency Service, to solve this situation, the number of pyrotechnicians was increased by 400 people, which doubled the number of staff.
“Taking into account the dynamics of the situation, we will continue to work on increasing pyrotechnics. Today, a fifth of the territory of Ukraine remains polluted, and we have cleared only 10 of the contaminated territory. I will remind you that one day of hostilities is equal to a month of demining work, and about 170 thousand munitions have been discovered and seized. And this work continues even on weekends,” Yevgeny Yenin noted.
According to the UN, about 6 million citizens have left Ukraine since the start of the war. Some of them left even without personal documents. Therefore, abroad they faced registration and accounting problems.
“In order to solve this problem, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we have proposed to the Government an experimental project, which is designed for 3 years. That is, we deploy points of issue of domestic and foreign passports in EU countries. We started from Poland, Warsaw, but in a couple of weeks we plan to open a full-fledged office center there with 20 employees. In the future, we plan to open in Krakow, Wroclaw and a number of other cities. Also with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we agree on the further geography of providing our services and the development of similar services, as well as the expansion of the range of documents that will be issued on the basis of foreign representative offices of SE “Dokument” - these are technical passports for cars and driver's licenses,” Yevgeny Yenin added.
