“The Ministry of Internal Affairs is at the front, we also need weapons and ammunition”, - Igor Klymenko
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine during a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Martin Yeger.
Igor Klymenko told about the results of the official visit of Martin Yeger in his Telegram channel. In particular, the parties discussed the security situation inside Ukraine and the participation of the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in repelling the enemy.
“The system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is an important component in the defense of Ukraine. Now almost a quarter of the entire state is at the forefront. And we also need weapons and ammunition,” the Minister of Interior stressed.
Also, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke about the assistance that Ukraine has already received from partners. According to Igor Klymenko, all assistance provided is clearly accounted for, and its use is carefully monitored.
“Germany handed over more than 40 cars to the State Border Guard Service, 6 mechanized demining machines, special equipment, reagents and consumables for DNA research to the Expert Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” Igor Klimenko noted.
Another aspect of joint work, the Minister noted, is the issuance of passports for Ukrainians in Germany. During the year, almost 150 thousand Ukrainian documents were issued in the German representative offices of the State Enterprise “Dokument”. DNA samples were also selected there for identification of missing citizens.
“I thank Mr. Yeger and the German Government for understanding the needs of the security authorities of our state and significant contribution to the defense of Ukraine,” the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine summed up the meeting.
