The Ministry of Internal Affairs actively involves territorial communities in the implementation of the digital project “Safe Country”, - Igor Bondarenko

This was announced today, February 22, by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Bondarenko during the forum “Safe and Resilient Communities of the Future”.

“Safe Country” is an automated system for ensuring public safety, which is based on monitoring, forecasting, preventing possible threats and offenses and responding promptly to them.

Igor Bondarenko stressed that the implementation of the digital project will help to build a multi-level security management system of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will initiate the connection of all surveillance cameras to the video recording system “Safe Country”. It will help speed up investigative actions and investigation of criminal proceedings, as well as ensure the interaction of all authorities, will be able to recognize faces and analyze people's behavior,” said the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The operation of the system will promote the effective interaction of forces and means of key and emergency response services, increase the level of interaction and exchange of data between state authorities, allow the country's leadership, facility administration and executive authorities to receive timely and reliable information to ensure the timeliness of management decisions.

The “Safe Country” system will allow:

- reduce the response time of relevant services to incidents by 25-30%;

- increase the safety of the habitat of citizens;

- accelerate the detection of offenses;

- reduce the criminogenic situation by 35-40%;

- improve the investment attractiveness of Ukrainian cities;

- reduce the number of victims during emergencies by 8— 10%.
