International driver's license: how to get it in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a new mark in the document
An international driver's license is issued on the basis of a national driver's license in the territorial service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The validity of the international driver's license is 3 years, but not longer than the validity period of the national driver's license.
To obtain (exchange) an international driver's license, you must contact the territorial service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs convenient in location with the following documents:
present the original driver's license to the administrator on the spot and provide a copy of it;
passport of a citizen of Ukraine (in case of providing an ID card without the information on registration of the place of residence available in a contactless electronic medium, a certificate of registration of the person's place of residence is provided together);
passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad;
photo card size 3.5x4.5 cm on matte paper;
payment document (receipt) certifying the payment of the administrative service.
The term of service is up to 5 working days.
As a reminder, since the end of 2021, the GSC has implemented another innovation in the national driver's license — they have adapted it to the European model. The document fixes the mark in the form of the code “78", if you passed the practical exam on a vehicle with an automatic transmission.
With it, drivers can drive a car only with an automatic transmission, and in its absence - with any.
