“Bridge of Unity — Ukraine is One”, timed to the Day of Unity, was held online with the participation of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko, representatives of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs. Representatives of all structural units of KHNUVS, including Sumy Branch, Kremenchuk Flight College and Lyceum “Law Guard”, discussed topical issues of state unity.
The event was held by the Rector of the University Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Third Rank Police General Valery Sokurenko.
Deputy Minister Ekaterina Pavlichenko congratulated the participants of the online forum.
“All over Ukraine there are events dedicated to the Day of Unity. And today's event, held with the participation of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, is also dedicated to this state holiday. Today, the departments of the Ministry of the Interior must demonstrate that all attempts to destabilize, spread panic, create an atmosphere of fear are unsuccessful and we must resist them together. We are united, we are ready to work for the benefit of our state, to defend its territory, independence, sovereignty and our citizens. The future of Ukraine is in our hands today. The fate of the state depends on each of us — both on those who participate in Operation Joint Forces, who ensure order and security in our settlements, and on those who today only receive education and seek to serve the state and its citizens. By uniting, we can resist the enemy,” said Ekaterina Pavlichenko.
The Deputy Minister thanked those present for cohesion, coherence, for making such an event possible. Ekaterina Pavlichenko noted that “we are united, we are not afraid of anything, we are ready to defend our country, our citizens and build a bright future.”
Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Colonel of Police Andriy Fomenko stressed that with today's event we “demonstrate our resilience and readiness to resist, first of all, information-propaganda and moral-psychological the logical pressure exerted on public consciousness.” He focused on aspects that strengthen the legal unity of the state and the Ukrainian people. This is, first of all, the Constitution of Ukraine, the Act of Declaration of Independence, the Ukrainian language and our native land — the main national wealth that is protected by the state and “its protection from external encroachments becomes especially relevant in today's conditions,” Andriy Fomenko noted.
Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Colonel-General of Police Oleksandr Bandurka stressed:
“In his address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that “we are a great people of a great country”. And it is, indeed, yes. We have a great history, great opportunities. There are about 80 million of us around the world, but the Ukrainian people are a state-building nation. We have our own state — independent, sovereign and with a great future. Both the Act of Independence of Ukraine, the Declaration of Sovereignty, and the Constitution of Ukraine, indeed, are legal acts that unite us. Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs can rightly be proud of the fact that it is directly related to these historically significant acts.
