Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko on the current situation in Chernihiv
Law enforcement officers surrounded the courtyard in the center of Chernihiv and carried out a residential bypass of the buildings. This is done to make sure everyone is safe. “The territory to the right and left of the epicenter of the explosion, enemy attack - all houses without roofs. Therefore, we must carefully monitor every meter of this territory. Employees of the SBU, the Prosecutor General's Office work here. We must clearly document this war crime so that it falls into the piggy bank of the evidence base for crimes against humanity of the Russian Federation,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
According to Igor Klymenko, the main victims of the incident were in vehicles or crossing the road, as well as returning from the church. Our rescuers arrived in time after the rocket hit and obscured the epicenter of the explosion. Subsequently, together with the police officers, they began to provide first aid to citizens who were injured,” said Igor Klymenko.
