Ihor Klymenko, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, took part in intergovernmental consultations held between Ukraine and the Czech Republic

On July 16, 2024, the second intergovernmental consultations headed by the Prime Ministers of Ukraine and the Czech Republic took place in Prague.

hor Klymenko announced the results of his meeting with Vít Rakušan, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic, in his Telegram channel. 

 

Our previous meeting, held in March this year in Lviv, gave impetus to mutually beneficial and friendly cooperation. I would like to express my gratitude to your team for the fruitful cooperation we have had over the past three months, yielding concrete results,’ said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. 

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the meeting covered issues of migration policy, cooperation in the area of combating crime, and logistical support provided to the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, notably those deployed to the combat area.

Vít Rakušan, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic, informed Ihor Klymenko about the conditions of stay of the Ukrainian citizens in the territory of the Czech Republic and the pilot project of voluntary return of citizens.

‘This project, funded by the Czech Republic, is designed for 400 people. It provides an opportunity to assist elderly people and those who are forced to return home for health or family reasons,’ stated Vít Rakušan. 

At the end of the meeting, Ihor Klymenko expressed his gratitude to the Government and the people of the Czech Republic for their ironclad support and assistance.

For two years now, Ukraine has felt the friendly support of the Government and people of the Czech Republic. I would like to extend my gratitude for your initiative, support and effective dialogue", concluded the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
