We all united in the first days of the war, found help and understanding with all health care structures, - Colonel of the Medical Service Natalia Stefaniv
Natalia Stefanov heads the military hospital of the National Guard. It is there that since the beginning of the aggression of the Russian Federation, almost 800 soldiers have been hospitalized. For her steadfastness and determination in the performance of military duty, she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga III degree.
The year of Russian aggression for the military hospital appeared to be a serious test. Some things were not given much thought to before this stage of the war, as they were not in the top priority relative to peacetime.
“We all came together in the very first days of the war, found help and understanding with all health structures both in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and with colleagues from the Ministry of Health and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And this is not only about professional, but also about human relations. Since then, medical logistics have also changed, interdepartmental coordination has strengthened,” says Natalia Stefanov about the stage of stabilization and reboot of the medical industry under the challenges of the brutal war.
She assures that doctors are trying to do everything so that those fighters who have minor changes in health, still return to their units. And those who suffered more serious injuries were provided with proper rehabilitation and adapted to return to civilian life, so as not to lose themselves there and plan for their own future.
“We began to pay more attention to subacute rehabilitation of patients. That is, if you do not deal properly with patients with bullet wounds, especially with the specific mechanism of their formation, then complications develop very quickly, which then negatively affect the quality of life of the military. However, we were able to reach the level to adequately provide subacute rehabilitation and prevent most complications,” the colonel of the medical service explained.
Natalia Stefanov notes that the hospital continues to develop. Many modern methods of treatment and diagnosis have been mastered here.
