“We plan to launch a unified state register of weapons in exactly three months — on June 23,” - Igor Klymenko
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the air of the national tele-marathon “United News” regarding the legalization and circulation of firearms in Ukraine.
“The first steps we are now taking are the development of a unified state register of weapons, so that it is possible to exchange data electronically with business entities and with other law enforcement agencies,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed, while saying that the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to launch a single register of weapons in exactly three months - 23 in 2023.
Igor Klymenko noted that in this issue “there is a security factor that we have to discuss with the general public with experts, with people's deputies.”
He added that all weapons that were legally issued to citizens at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, including units of the National Police, are registered in a single base.
“And we do not see any problems now regarding the control of its use,” the Minister stressed.
He also added that responsibility for the circulation of weapons after the adoption of the relevant law in the second reading will be assigned primarily to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police.
