During the presentation of state awards to police officers, national guards and border guards, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that each of those present with sweat and blood fought and continues to fight for the independence of Ukraine.

Today, January 12, the Minister of the Interior met with employees of the National Police, the National Guard and the State Border Service, who showed personal courage and courage in the performance of military and official duty in conditions associated with the risk to life during measures to ensure national security and defense, repulse and strike armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

“Now people are with us, thanks to whom today, yesterday and tomorrow we have the opportunity to say “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” These are the people I am proud of personally, their families and, I am sure, the whole of our society. The actions that you do today and will do tomorrow give us our independence, erase it like a sculpture carved out of stone, how the spirit of Ukraine is honed, which we defend every day, every minute in Soledar, Maryinka, Bakhmut, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv region, Kherson region, etc. Your stories and exploits about how you repelled enemy attacks, destroyed more than 80 enemies in a day, stopped the movement of enemy vehicles at checkpoints, evacuated wounded soldiers and other inspiring acts. Nevertheless, we must remember those who did not live to this day,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

For a moment of silence, the participants honored the memory of those who died, sacrificing the most valuable - their lives, for the sake of Ukraine's independence.

“From myself, from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, from the Government, I want to thank you for your hard work, for your contribution to our independence. It is thanks to the fact that you are where you were, that we have an independent Ukrainian state. It is because of where you will be tomorrow, we will have an independent Ukrainian state. We have no other options. And although the main battles are still ahead, the main thing - Victory, is already waiting for us. We will definitely do this and will be able to celebrate and thank each other for being able to protect our country,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed.

For impeccable service to the Ukrainian people, more than 130 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received state awards. These are the Order of Bogdan Khmelnytsky III degree, “For Courage” of the III degree, Daniel Halytsky and medals “For impeccable service” of the first and third degree, “For military service to Ukraine” and “Defender of the Fatherland”.

By the Decree of the President of Ukraine, the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree was awarded to the Head of the Department of Aviation and Police on the Water of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Naumenko. Since February 24, 2022, the police colonel took an active part in the conduct of active hostilities in the territory of the Kiev region. As part of the group on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, together with the servicemen of the Armed Forces and police, he carried out tasks to identify enemy forces and equipment, places of their deployment, and conduct measures to repel Russian aggression on the approaches to the city of Kiev. He has repeatedly successfully made adjustments to artillery systems in order to defeat military equipment of the armed formations of the Russian Federation and conducted other ground operations to destroy the enemy forces of the aggressor country. He also performed tasks to repel Russian aggression on the territory of Chernihiv region, was part of a group for the implementation of radio-electronic control measures against unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the settlements of Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Rubezhnoe of the Luhansk region and the settlement of Lyman, Donetsk region.

Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine” was awarded to the scout of the National Guard Evgeny Fastovsky. In May 2022, a soldier with a sergeant in the counter-sniper group received a combat task to identify and destroy enemy snipers and sniper positions of the enemy in the area of NP Rubezhnoe Luhansk region. During the next artillery shelling from the enemy, I heard a single shot from the area of the forest strip.

Eugene, focusing his sector of view in the direction of conducting fire on the enemy and noticed atypical glare that could indicate the presence of an enemy shooter. At this time, a signal sounded on the radio station for the personnel of the company's support points to the work of an enemy sniper. Assessing the operational situation, the guardsman advanced into the depth of the positions of the main forces of the battalion tactical group and with machine gun fire gave target guidance to a colleague in the direction of the enemy's probable location, as a result of which he focused the enemy's fire on himself. Taking advantage of this, his colleague managed to destroy two enemy snipers with several shots.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked all the laureates for their contribution to the defense of the country's independence and for the preservation of lives, for making the right decisions and for unity.
