We are fighting for our homeland and Motherland, - the border service of Ukraine
Border guards Yevhen and Dmytro are combat friends who have been serving in the Berdyansk border detachment for almost ten years.
Yevhen joined the ranks of the border unitary in 2014, Dmitry — joined later. Service in one unit united the guys and they became comrades.
That fateful morning of February 24 changed the usual pattern forever. To fulfill the tasks of deterring the enemy, part of the border guards went to the front. Eugene and Dmitry and their comrades received a combat mission to track the actions of the enemy in the waters of the Sea of Azov.
One day at dawn, while tracking enemy vehicles and their movements, two comrades tracked a 152 mm divisional self-propelled howitzer “Acacia” with a full tank of fuel in a forest strip. After waiting for the evening, the border guards secretly broke through and defused the deadly weapon, which saved more than one life.
Now the brothers continue to carry out combat missions in the Zaporizhzhya direction and are firmly convinced that they will soon return home with Victory.
“When your relatives are in danger, there is no sense of fear, there is a sense of duty and a desire to save, so that no one harms them,” says Eugene. “And also, the desire to throw out this evil spirit from the territory of our beautiful Motherland,” Dmytro adds.
