We are fighting for the future of our children, and it will be incredible, - border guard with the callsign Beetle
Before the war, he worked as a builder in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, and now he is fighting for freedom and independence of our state. This is the second mobilization — in 2014, as part of one of the consolidated border units, he and his comrades passed Stanytsya-Luhansk, Krasnotalivka and other hot spots of the ATO zone.
On February 24, at 08.00 in the morning Zhuk was in one of the border units, from where, as part of the first consolidated detachment, he went to the Kiev region, to defend Gostomel. His unit was joined by a lot of already well-known guys, brothers and commanders, side by side with whom they fought for freedom together with weapons in hand in 2014.
Fierce, continuous and exhausting street battles were already raging in Gostomel when the Beetle arrived at the point of defense. Enemy tanks roamed the central streets of the city under the cover of combat helicopters, assault rifles and bombers, mines or kamikaze drones exploded every minute.
One day, the occupiers attacked the positions of all military formations as far as possible. Two of Zhuk's brothers were covered by heavy shelling near the bus stop. The beetle pulled one of the wounded Chechen with a call sign along with a concrete wall - there was no time for reflection, because the life of his brother had to be saved.
In the shelter, where in addition to the military, about two hundred more people sought shelter, the border guards provided first medical aid. As soon as the opportunity arose, border guards began evacuating the wounded. The beetle, along with his brothers, carried the wounded to the sounds of shelling and explosions on stretchers for more than 3 kilometers. Thanks to their courage and indestructibility, the border guards managed to save all the comrades.
Now Zhuk defends the southern borders of Ukraine and assures that there will be so much fight, so much will be needed:
“Let no enemy remain on our land. And we will definitely do it for the future of our children.”
For personal courage and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath of border guard Zhuk was awarded the state medal “Defender of the Fatherland”.
