A resident of Kherson, who delivered groceries to the occupied city on her own, told her story and exchanged a driver's license
Mrs. Elena is an indigenous inhabitant of Kherson, but with the beginning of the invasion she was forced to move to her relatives in the village. A large number of friends and acquaintances remained in the city, who, unfortunately, were not lucky to find a safer shelter.
Our heroine is a driver with great experience and confidently drives her own car. So — from the very beginning of the occupation, when trucks with food were not allowed into the city, there was a significant shortage of food. Just imagine the situation — when you go to a store, and it is either closed or you see only bare shelves there. And if adults could somehow adjust, then with young children the situation was critical. Babies and younger children desperately needed ordinary milk, which was not available in the city, and not a drop. At the same time, the same milk was poured in the villages, because it was not possible to store or sell it for a long time.
So Mrs. Elena, gathering all the strength of her spirit several times a week, broke into Kherson and brought milk to families with children. In her words, at first it was scary when whole columns of impressive equipment drove to meet her. Several times her small car was targeted by the barrel of a tank and tried to obstruct her passage. It happened that they had to go under explosions and shelling.
Now, looking at her smiling face, you are charged with a positive mood and feel energized. I can't believe how steely this woman has.
In exchange for a driver's license, they spent 20 minutes.
Once again, we were assured that we would not be defeated, because we care not only about ourselves. We are Ukrainians, strong and independent!
