Mary Akopian discussed with the British Minister of Fire Protection the next tranche of assistance to Ukrainian rescuers
To date, the SNS of Ukraine from the fire and rescue services of Great Britain has already delivered 60 fire and rescue vehicles and more than 10 thousand units of equipment. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Akopian.
“With newly appointed UK Fire Minister Sarah Dines, international fire services and organisations specialising in the field discussed further cooperation to help Ukrainian rescuers who are heroically performing their duty in a full-scale war,” said Mary Akope Jan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the priority areas of cooperation on humanitarian demining; replenishment of the special equipment park; restoration of damaged infrastructure of units.
“We outlined the prospects for another tranche of international assistance from the UK in response to the needs of our rescue units. Together with colleagues, we analyzed opportunities and determined ways of future implementation of international cooperation,” added the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Mary Akopian also added that thanks to the joint efforts of FIRE AID, all fire and rescue services of Great Britain, industry partners, with logistical support from colleagues from Germany and Poland, 60 fire and rescue vehicles and more than 10 thousand were successfully delivered to the rescuers of the SNS of Ukraine units of equipment, kits and personal protective equipment.
