Melitopol investigators handed over cases against supporters of “Russian peace” to the court
Two former Ukrainian teachers who voluntarily took the side of the occupiers and took leading positions in educational institutions established at the TOT of Melitopol and Melitopol district will be tried for collaborationism. The participants organized the educational process according to the educational standards and training plans of the aggressor country.
Employees of the Investigative Department of the Melitopol RUP GUNP in Zaporizhzhya region, under the procedural guidance of the Melitopol District Prosecutor's Office, completed the pre-trial investigation and sent to the court the indictments against citizens of Ukraine on the fact of collaborative activity (Part 3 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the former primary school teacher and a teacher of a higher vocational school agreed to cooperate with the enemy and voluntarily assumed positions in educational institutions subordinate to the occupation administration.
One of the traitors, a 57-year-old resident of Melitopol, headed the gymnasium in the district center. Another 37-year-old supporter of “Russian peace” became the director of a secondary school in Melitopol.
Both collaborators actively implemented in their institutions the educational process according to the standards and educational plans of the Russian Federation. The traitors carried out propaganda against Ukraine, glorified Russia, denied the cultural values of the Ukrainian people, its historical heritage and traditions. Thus, distorting historical facts, the educators provoked hatred and aggression towards the whole Ukrainian in the younger generation.
Earlier, both collaborators were already notified of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for in Part 3 of Art. 111-1 (Collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers have gathered a sufficient evidence base to complete the investigation and direct the materials of criminal proceedings to the court.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of correctional labor for up to two years or arrest for up to six months, or imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of ten to fifteen years.
