Today, December 20, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin visited the medical institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

First of all, he met and talked with wounded law enforcement officers and servicemen who are undergoing treatment and primary rehabilitation measures. We talked with patients about the quality of the medical service, the attitude of the staff and the urgent needs that exist in them.

In general, the patients of the medical institution are satisfied with the conditions of stay, the majority are set on a speedy recovery and return to their relatives.

Thus, Roman Gorbenko fought in Mariupol as part of the battalion “Donbas”, at one time he was wounded near Komyshuvakha in Luhansk region and now, after surgical treatment, became a regular at the rehabilitation gym, noting the extremely humane attitude towards them in the medical institution.

Yevgeny Yenin noted that, despite the complexity of the situation, the morale of our soldiers is very high, fighting. The main thing is the people, and the Ukrainians win back the territories.

Also, the First Deputy Head of the Ministry handed over some of the works of the children's drawing contest “I am safe from the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, timed to St. Nicholas Day, to servicemen and law enforcement officers who are being treated in a medical institution for remembrance and as a sign of moral support.

We visited the informal location of the Arthrum Hospital — a room for art therapy. It is an effective way to distract patients from the problems of the present, a method of supporting people who have experienced many stressful moments in life. Here they communicate on distracting topics, while at the same time making refinements from clay or wax. So, at the pottery circle, the guys produce various vases, dishes, and other household items for an hour and a half.

“The focus of this approach is the socialization of those who have passed the test with injury. They are constantly busy, are in a team, they have less time for disturbing thoughts. We took on this option, helping the warriors go to victory. After art therapy sessions, they come out happy, they want to return to such practices again. We exhibit patients' works at charity auctions, in galleries, investing the proceeds in the development of the medical institution,” says Daryna Trebukh, head of charitable projects of NGO “Reduit”.

Yevgeny Yenin himself joined the national guards and policemen, with whom the art therapy session was going on at this time. He made a souvenir New Year's candle. And in memory of this workshop, one of the fighters gave him his improvements.

“Every fourth soldier at the front belongs to the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: national guards, border guards, policemen are in the hottest areas of the front. Medical facilities of our department have been redesigned to provide the most effective assistance in the treatment and rehabilitation of the injured. In total, during the current year, about 4 thousand people passed through these medical institutions. In particular, more than 770 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the National Police were treated in this medical institution,” Yevgeny Yenin said.

Yenin noted that the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the medical service, was preparing for the aggression of the Russian Federation. In all medical institutions it was possible to organize shelter facilities, service rooms were converted into bomb shelters, and continuous water and energy supply were provided.

“Currently, medicine in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is developing in view of the growing needs for treatment and rehabilitation. Despite the current difficult times, we are trying to find opportunities for improvement. And we focus not only on increasing beds for patients, but also focusing on staff. Constant professional growth, the use of various incentives allows you to focus everyone on the result. And sometimes it is these people who do the simply impossible,” Yevgeny Yenin noted.

In the medical institution on the same day, a number of medical workers presented departmental certificates and valuable gifts for their success in their work.
