Mother continued the cause of her sons, who were taken away by the Russian-Ukrainian war
Lyudmila invested her whole soul in her two sons, who were her support, her pride. They were... because the war took them away from her. Lyudmila's sons were only 24 years old.
Lyudmila is a charming woman with a gentle smile. She worked as a teacher for 30 years.
“Since childhood, I raised my children so that they were kind, responsive,” says Lyudmila. - So that they respect people and love their Motherland. Therefore, it was not even in the way when the eldest son Ivan went to defend Ukraine during the Russian occupation of the Ukrainian Donbas and Crimea. He served in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It so happened that in December 2015 he died of illness. The younger son, Artem, also followed his older brother — in 2014 he joined the 95th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. In December 2017, he died while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region — he was blown up on a stretcher.”
The woman is supported by Artem's friends, and only recently she was told how he died. The guy served in the intelligence unit. While performing a combat mission in the area of Verkhnioretsky Donetsk region, he was blown up on a stretcher and lost both legs. Having been seriously wounded, he managed to call for help, so that two scouts - his brothers - remained alive. Unfortunately, Artem could not be saved, he was bleeding before help arrived.
Lyudmila suffered the loss of both sons. All the time she gave to work. She says it was the school that helped her survive the loss of her children. “When you go to an educational institution where there are students, teachers, it's a little distracting. Here you forget about everything bad, in a word you live school life, - says Lyudmila. “But I still felt that I had to do something for the memory of my boys. Therefore, in 2021 I joined the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.”
Before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the woman served in one of the border units, located in the north of the region, currently serves in another border unit. He says that now he feels even more necessary, because together with the rest of the military he is approaching the Victory expected by all Ukrainians. She does it for the sake of her grandchildren, of whom she has two, and the students who constantly keep in touch with her beloved teacher.
He does not consider service in the border unit, despite the constant shelling by the Rashists, difficult, because he uses the principles of his sons: “Who, if not me?!” On the contrary, he says that the unit is dominated by mutual respect, mutual assistance, mutual understanding. It helps and inspires a lot.
