Future National Guard officers undergo training in the field
At the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, the main focus of training future officers is focused on their acquisition of practical skills, in particular in working in the field. Teachers of the Department of Tactics of the Command and Staff Faculty constantly conduct classes with cadets of all faculties of the Academy.
“In the course of such exercises, special attention is paid to the development of the capabilities of future commanders to make the right decisions in the conditions of a suddenly changing situation, as well as clear actions of servicemen as part of units on a conventional battlefield,” says Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Goncharov.
He adds that now in the fight against the Russian army, the acquisition of knowledge in general tactics by cadets remains the most relevant direction of the educational process at NA NGU, because the actions of the commander on the battlefield depend on both the success of the tasks and the preservation of the life and health of personnel and commissioned weapons and military equipment.
“We really like it when hands-on classes are fun and dynamic. This is especially true of the order of working out actions in conditions close to combat. The teacher constantly provides us with new tutorials, sometimes we are forced to make decisions instantly, assessing the situation directly on the “battlefield”. Yes, sometimes it is difficult, but as the saying goes, “It's hard in training — easy in battle.” At the end of the class, we are usually a little dirty, wet and tired, but we are satisfied,” says Sergeant Alexander.
The acquired skills will undoubtedly be useful to future officers in the course of further service, including during decision-making, training subordinate personnel and performing tasks assigned by units of the NGU.
