Unbroken munitions, hundreds of thousands of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, aerial bombs, mortar mines, artillery shells — all this remained in Ukrainian fields, forests, roads and houses. In addition, while retreating, the Russian military cunningly mined every possible centimeter of Ukrainian land.

In Kharkiv region, a joint detachment of specialists of explosives and special police officers of various regions is engaged in the mining of de-occupied territories, including two special purpose police fighters and three explosives technicians of the GUNP in the Luhansk region.

Most often, police officers are confronted with PFM-1 mines (so-called “petals”), which are prohibited by all international conventions. The insidiousness of these munitions is that they are small in size, which makes the “petal” inconspicuous among grass or fallen leaves.

Step by step, law enforcement officers inspect farmland, field roads, forests and defuse enemy munitions. During the month, about 45 square kilometers were surveyed, more than 100 explosive objects were discovered and destroyed.

The fighters note that their goal is to return security to every Ukrainian home, for this they are ready to work around the clock. And add:

“We will definitely return the Ukrainian lands of our native Luhansk region, and then we will deport it so that the fertile fields bring bread, not death, so that children swim in the waters and do not bypass them, so that wild beasts, not orcs, become masters in the forests again.”

It should be noted that during the day the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service were involved 131 times, 325 explosive objects were detected, seized and neutralized, and the area of 137.39 hectares was surveyed.

Most often, pyrotechnic units worked: in Kharkiv region — 22 thousand 539 times, Kyiv region — 8 thousand. 672, Donetsk region — 7 thousand 806, Mykolaiv region — 5 thousand 914, Kherson region — 7 thousand 443, Chernihiv region — 4 thousand 919, Sumy region — 2 thousand 472, Cherkasy region — 1 thousand 283.

In total, since the beginning of the large-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, 427 thousand 743 explosive items and 2 thousand 892 kg of explosives have been defused, including 3 thousand 090 aircraft bombs. The area of more than 93 thousand 585 hectares was surveyed.

If you find a suspicious object or explosive, call 101 immediately.
