The logic of Ukraine's actions on the border with the Republic of Belarus is exclusively defensive, — Igor Bondarenko
Ukraine acts in accordance with the Constitution — it defends its borders. The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Bondarenko told about this during a briefing at the Military Media Center.
He noted that last week the border with the Republic of Belarus, the length of which is more than 1000 kilometers, was inspected.
“The tasks we solved are to study the situation directly on the ground and find out the needs of the combined forces, which are located in this area and ensure the fulfillment of tasks for the defense of our state. The combined forces include units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this is the State Border Service, the National Guard, and the National Police. We worked in all border regions, including Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia and Volyn regions. We worked all over the site,” said Igor Bondarenko.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that the nature of the actions of the combined forces is defensive. At the same time, Ukraine is increasing its capabilities, because already this year we have had extremely negative experience of violating any logic of good-neighborly relations and had the facts of a ground invasion.
“We had the facts of a ground invasion by our northern neighbor, the use of its infrastructure to carry out aggression against our state, the use of the aviation component, the launch of missile attacks on our territory. Otherwise, we cannot react. The threats are obvious, so we act in accordance with the Constitution and defend the borders of our state. Our actions are purely defensive in nature. There is a constant increase in our forces. We are increasing our capacity to fight back in case of attempts to continue aggression,” said Igor Bondarenko.
He also noted that the mining of roads near the border of the Republic of Belarus is an act of a defensive nature.
“We do this so that the enemy understands that the repulse will be given, we are ready for it. The work was started in June, and we evaluate it as an increase in the capacity of the exhibitor,” Ihor Bondarenko summed up.
