US Forest Service handed equipment to Zaporozhye rescuers
Combat clothing, helmets, life belts, flashlights, fire sleeves of various diameters, and high-power diesel generators on platform trailers were purchased under an international program of the United States Forest Service (U.S. Forest Service International Programs).
All this equipment and equipment were purchased for the implementation of the project “Fire Safety of Forests in Ukraine”, which is implemented by the NGO “Agency for the Promotion of Sustainable Development of the Carpathian Region “FORZA” in order to improve the capacity to respond to emergencies in conditions of martial law, as well as to increase the level of personal safety of firefighters and rescuers Peasants.
“The U.S. Forest Service recognizes the vital work that Ukraine's rescuers do every day, and we're proud to support them,” said Matt Wills, program manager for Eastern Europe.
In turn, the head of the operational and coordination center of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhya region Oleksandr Sychev noted: “We have been cooperating with the US Forest Service for several years on various issues of exchange of experience. This cooperation is extremely beneficial for us because it allows us to look at current standards and regulations from a new angle.”
