Lasagna, escalopes and Mediterranean fish: Italian volunteers organized a lunch for wounded servicemen of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Volunteers treated more than a hundred wounded Ukrainian servicemen of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with traditional Italian dishes.
The gala dinner was held in the walls of one of the medical centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the participation of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine Pierre Francesc Dzadzo and Apostolic Nuncio Visvaldas Kulbokas.
Before the treat, the musicians performed the anthem of Ukraine for the wounded soldiers, then a minute of silence commemorated the memory of the dead Ukrainian defenders and defenders.
The State Secretary of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech. She conveyed to the wounded the words of great respect from the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko and expressed gratitude to the ambassadors of Italy and the Vatican for their support in the war and the assistance provided.
“I want to thank all those who put their hearts, their health, their fortunes and their lives at the altar. Because the fact that we have gathered today is already a great happiness, it is already worth the price,” said Inna Yashchuk.
In turn, Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine Pierre Francesco noted that Italian cuisine very accurately conveys the culture of Italy. Dishes consist of simple ingredients and are not difficult to prepare. So today Italians personally came to Ukraine to support the defenders and treat them with goodies.
“Today's event is a way to express the solidarity of the people of Ukraine and to you personally, because for us you are heroes. After all, you protect freedom and the Motherland,” the ambassador of Italy emphasized.
Wounded guards, border guards, policemen and rescuers were able to try Italian baked white lasagna with mushrooms, escalopes with mushrooms and fillets of blue Mediterranean fish. For dessert - pandoro and cantuccini.
