“Labradors are one of the best at finding prohibited substances at the border”, - dog biologist of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
Indispensable helpers, reliable partners and loyal friends - all this is about service dogs, which today, on a par with border guards, carry the service of guarding state borders.
One of the representatives of the four-legged guards is the Labrador. It is the Labrador that is the most beloved family dog breed and is considered the kindest in the world.
Despite their cheerful disposition, Labradors are born hunters, and their favorite occupation is search and hunting, so in the State Border Service of Ukraine they have proven themselves as seekers of weapons, explosives and drugs. And it was this dog that was chosen by the border guard Lida Karakuzova.
Her companion was Jesse, with whom they will guard the western borders of our state.
“Many consider Labradors to be couch dogs, although I can dispel this myth because my Jessie is very active and agile. Now we are studying together on a course on the search for explosives. My four-legged ward is diligent in training, shows good results, but in her free time she loves to play and needs attention to herself,” the dog nutritionist shared.
So, the Labrador is a reliable and faithful companion that can be both a pet of your family and a “thunderstorm” for smugglers.
