Forensic police officers will receive a 3D laser scanner to record the consequences of enemy attacks
National Police forensics have mastered the latest 3D scanners to inspect the sites of hostilities and terrorist attacks. The week-long training took place within the framework of the project “Polish Aid”.
14 forensic specialists from Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson regions and the Main Investigation Department of the National Police were trained.
In December, forensics will receive a laser 3D scanner “Z+F Imager 5016". This will allow to capture in 3D models all the consequences of missile strikes on residential buildings and critical infrastructure, artillery shelling, bombings and other war crimes of the Russians.
The use of this device will allow to record war crimes in the shortest possible time and with minimal use of human resources. After all, often the Russians deliberately fire the places of their crimes repeatedly, when police and medics arrive there to save people.
Forensic scientists have mastered theoretical and practical knowledge of:
- the use of 3D laser scanners in criminal proceedings for the rapid collection of evidence of war destruction, disasters and terrorist attacks in large and inaccessible areas;
- the possibility of using laser 3D scanners to fix damage to critical infrastructure facilities (manufacturing plants, power plants, refineries, bridges) as a result of hostilities, disasters and terrorist acts;
- documenting damage to large buildings - apartment buildings, streets, shopping centers, etc.;
- modeling and combining images of scanned objects;
- visualization and presentation of a collective model of scanned objects for the needs of law enforcement and judicial authorities (police, prosecutor's office, courts).
