Criminals of the National Police and the State Border Guard have improved their qualifications in the United States
Representatives of the National Police of Ukraine and the State Border Service of Ukraine took part in the 33rd annual conference of criminal analysis. Ukrainian police officers participated in the work of thematic sessions, during which they discussed and adopted the best experience of effective application of the possibilities of criminal analysis in the law enforcement sphere.
During the week, with the assistance of the International Training Program for Criminal Investigation Bodies (ICITAP) of the US Department of Justice, employees of the Department of Criminal Analysis and Analysts of Territorial Police Units, together with representatives of the State Border Service of Ukraine, joined the work of the annual training conference in the city. Grapevine (Texas). It was organized by the International Association of Criminal Analysts. The event was attended by 774 representatives of analytical units from law enforcement agencies of 21 countries. Representatives of the Dallas and Texas police were also invited.
The training conference was divided into thematic sessions, during which the participants of the event demonstrated the most modern analytical developments, tools, methods and forms of criminal analysis.
Ukrainian criminal analysts were particularly interested in presentations on support of investigators' work through cartography and features of identification of patterns using matrix analysis.
Also, representatives of US law enforcement agencies spoke about their own experience of analytical activities, such as assessing the consequences of police presence in areas with high concentration of property crimes, analysis of social networks of human trafficking, search for information using the OSINT method and interpretation of such information.
In addition to participating in the training conference, Ukrainian police and border guards will get acquainted with the peculiarities of the work of US law enforcement officers directly at the places of their deployment. In particular, we visited the Fusion Center of the Dallas Police Department, which performs the functions of situational, operational, tactical analysis, and also provides assistance in the exchange of various information, its assessment, analysis and decision-making on its basis in the field of security.
As a result of participation in the international conference, agreements were reached on the development of a criminal analysis service, as well as increasing the level of international cooperation for the prompt exchange of world best practices.
