Drug smuggling and supporter of “Russian measure” from Georgia: the situation on the border
Border guards together with law enforcement officers exposed a criminal group that was engaged in smuggling narcotic substances. Members of the drug gang were detained in their residences in Uzhgorod and Mukachevo. Another accomplice was previously detained at the checkpoint “Tisa” during an attempt to import a narcotic substance by her into the territory of Ukraine.
There were 5 authorized searches at the addresses of the persons involved in the case. Law enforcement officers discovered and seized 34 bundles of white crystalline substance, electronic scales, zip bags, smoking aids, firearms and cartridges, mobile phones, bank cards, SIM cards and flash drives.

They were declared suspected of committing a criminal offense, responsibility for which is provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code “Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues”. Three of the five chose a precautionary measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the right to make a bail in the amount of 53 to 214 thousand hryvnias.
Meanwhile, at the Starokozache checkpoint of Odessa region, border guards banned Georgian citizens from entering Ukraine. The woman turned out to be a supporter of the “Russian authorities”. As it turned out, the foreigner supports the policy of the aggressor country. In her mobile phone, law enforcement officers found materials supporting the armed forces of the occupiers and discrediting the Ukrainian military. Law enforcement officers established that for the first time the foreigner tried to enter the territory of Ukraine allegedly to her cousin.
However, for the propaganda position, such a trip ended with a refusal to cross the border and a ban on entry into the territory of Ukraine.
