Confiscated goods for UAH 20 million were transferred to the Armed Forces
We are talking about 315 thousand packs of cigarettes seized within the framework of the “Excise” operation.
Recall that by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky, the National Police of Ukraine carries out the operation “Excise”. The main goal is to stop illegal operations in the markets of fuel and tobacco products. According to the results of its implementation, the operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police together with the prosecutor's office of Lviv region stopped the activities of the underground workshop and seized tobacco products
In June 2022, the court found the organizers of illegal business guilty and imposed a sentence of imprisonment for 3 years with confiscation of property. In view of the fact that the withdrawn products meet all quality standards, it was decided to transfer cigarettes to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On January 10, employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police handed over 315 thousand packs of cigarettes to the military for 20 million UAH.
Law enforcement officers continue to take measures so that the seized assets and products of the appropriate quality from those involved in criminal proceedings go to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the reconstruction of infrastructure.
